Coal powder samples were dried at 80 °C for 48 h in an oven before testing. The carbon content of samples was detected with an Xray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer. (3) A mixture of coal powder and deionized water with a coal/water ratio of 1:20 was poured into the reactor (Wang et al., 2016b). Deionized water was employed to simplify the ...

Solubility of hydrocarbon oils in alcohols (≤C RSC Publishing

With respect to base oil solubility, alcohols ≤C 4 would have limited use for degreasing as most bearing greases (NLGI2) are manufactured from PAO10 or mineral oil range viscosities. 29 Although tertbutanol can dissolve hydrocarbon at this level, tertbutanol and tertpentanol have much greater risk of fire, since their flash points (<20 °C) are less than half of their normal isomers.

Answer: Solvents such as kerosene, water and cooking oil don't dissolve coal powder in them. hydrocarbons (petroleum, gasoline, gasoline, etc.) simply do not dissolve in water. This is because like dissolves like. Also, kerosene is lighter than water and floats on its surface rather than dissolving. That is why they are called immiscible liquids.

The highspeed agitator was employed to break kerosene into small oil droplets. For C kB and C kB k configurations, the polished coal plates were conditioned in the kerosene solution for 3 min using a magnetic stirrer at 700 rpm, this is a reasonable stirrer speed for the adsorption of kerosene on coal surface.

The role of kerosene on the coal particle and bubble attachment behavior has been elucidated from both macroscopic and microscopic scales. Our contact angle and warp angle measurements have shown that the hydrophobicity of coal and the bubble collecting capacity could be enhanced by the addition of kerosene, and the presence of kerosene on both ...
