The best place to farm Fel Iron Ore is in Hellfire Peninsula. You can also go to Zangrarmarsh, Shadowmoon Valley or Netherstorm and find some Fel Iron Ore but you will find mostly other things there which are also valuable. If you just want to mine Fel Iron, go straight to Hellfire Peninsula.

Zangarmarsh is by far the best place to get Fel Iron Ore (And quite a bit of Adamantite). It's VERY abundant there and it's incredibly fast. Basically all I do is I ride the entire edge of Zangarmarsh, all the way around, with my mount. In one trip I make on average 30 Fel Iron Ore, and about a halfstack of Adamantite.
Arathi is definetly the best place to go for iron ore. Obtained about 98 Iron, 14 Gold, 6 Silver, and 25 Tin, in about 2 hours. Dont forget to look in Bolderfist Hall, Bolderfist Outpost and the Drywhisker Gorge for extras along the way. And the Lake at Whiterbark Village normally has a few. Happy huntings :D

Western Plaguelands Western Plaguelands is also an excellent place to farm Iron, just don't go to Hearthglen because there is no ore there. Stick to route I recommend. These are the best zones if you want to farm Iron Ore. Once you are done mining Iron, go to my Mithril Ore Farming page!

The best place to farm Adamantite Ore was and still is Shadowmoon Valley. One 30 min session yielded me 63 Adamantite, 53 Fel Iron Ore, 7 Eternium Ore, 3 green gems, 60 Motes of Earth and 7 Motes of Fire. The zone is smaller than Nagrand, so each lap takes perhaps 12 minutes.

Continuing your path straight on through Orebor Harborage then a small loop around Ango'rosh Grounds, do a little bit of a 180 loop and then head down past Sporeggar into the Spawning Glen always sticking to the side. Like the top of the map, stick to the cliffs and continue your journey right the way through, again mining any Fel Iron Ore you see.
